Built by IMI and imported by Action Arms prior to the 1989 ban, this Model A carbine represents the classic civilian semi-auto UZI configuration. The receiver carries the correct IMI - ISRAEL and ACTION ARMS, LTD Phila. Pa markings, along with SA-prefix semi-auto serialization. The stamped steel construction and Israeli manufacture align with original commercial import standards from the era.
The carbine uses a closed-bolt blowback action with a top-mounted, non-reciprocating charging handle. A factory top cover warning plate is present. Controls include a manual safety and a selector with S/F markings. The maximum capacity is 32+1 when using standard 32-round magazines.
Sighting is via iron sights: a protected front post and an L-type dual-aperture flip rear calibrated for 100 and 200 meters. As correct for the Model A, the rear sight does not include windage adjustment.
The 16-inch barrel is fitted with a ventilated shroud, and the rifle is equipped with a folding steel stock (8.5-inch length of pull), a polymer pistol grip, and a ribbed polymer foregrip. The bore condition is excellent, with sharp rifling and a clean, mirror finish.
