The barrel is Winchester Proof Steel, 22 inches in length, and marked "WINCHESTER MODEL 70 WESTERNER - .243 WIN - MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL." The receiver bears the "WINCHESTER TRADE MARK" marking and is drilled and tapped for optics.
The rifle includes a jeweled bolt body with a polished bolt knob and the Model 70 three-position safety. It feeds from an internal box magazine with a 5-round capacity, allowing 5+1 possible.
