Built on the compact J-frame, this round-butt revolver uses carbon-steel construction with a high-polish blue finish on the frame and fluted 5-shot cylinder. The 2-inch tapered barrel is paired with an unshrouded, knurled ejector rod, and the revolver uses a frame-mounted firing pin.
Controls and operation include a double-action/single-action mechanism, a smooth-faced trigger, and an exposed hammer with a checkered spur. An internal key lock is integrated into the design.
Sights are fixed, with a serrated ramp front and a fixed rear notch for a simple, durable sight picture suited to the 2-inch barrel format. The model stamping "36-10" is on the yoke cut.
Factory aesthetic details include the script "Lady Smith" engraving on the left sideplate and standard S&W rollmarks: "SMITH & WESSON" on the right side of the barrel, ".38 S.&W. SPL." on the left side of the barrel, "MADE IN U.S.A. / MARCAS REGISTRADAS / SMITH & WESSON / SPRINGFIELD, MASS." on the left frame, and the S&W circular trademark logo on the right sideplate.
The smooth hardwood finger-groove stocks complement the compact profile, and the revolver is chambered in .38 Special with a 5-round capacity. Country of origin is the United States.
