Built in Serbia by Zastava Arms, this ZPAPM70 follows the M70 lineage with a stamped steel receiver and an RPK-style bulged front trunnion. It is chambered in 7.62x39 and uses a long-stroke, gas-operated, semi-automatic action. Import and origin markings include "ZASTAVA ARMS USA DES PLAINES IL" and "ZASTAVA ARMS MADE IN SERBIA."
The rifle is customized with an UltiMAK M9 gas-tube Picatinny rail upper handguard, marked "U.S. PAT. 6381895, M9 Made in USA," paired with a Yugo-pattern ribbed polymer lower handguard. A Yugo-pattern right-side receiver optic rail is also present. The pistol grip is upgraded to a Magpul MOE AK grip for a secure, modern interface.
The 16.3-inch threaded barrel is equipped with a JMac Customs 24-series muzzle brake, identifiable by the octagonal J logo and "24" marking. Sighting is handled by a hooded front post and a tangent ladder rear sight graduated 1–10. The gas block incorporates an integral sling loop, and the manual safety uses SAFE/FIRE selector markings.
Furniture includes a fixed wood stock with a 12.6 length of pull. The rifle retains model and caliber markings "MDL. ZPAPM70" and "CAL. 7.62x39MM." Matching serial numbers are present on the bolt carrier and receiver. Capacity is 30+1, and one 30-round steel magazine is included.
