It features a DA/SA, hammer-fired system with decocker, a proprietary integral accessory rail, and fixed 3-dot sights. It comes with two 10-round magazines, the original SIGARMS hard case, the factory manual, and a spare interchangeable SIG Pro grip shell.

The SP2340 pairs a 3.9 in barrel with a DA/SA, hammer-fired, short-recoil locked-breech action. Its decocker provides the classic SIG Pro control layout, with decocker, slide stop, and takedown lever on the left side. Capacity is 10+1 in .40 S&W.
The polymer frame keeps weight down and hosts the first-generation SIG Pro proprietary integral accessory rail (non–MIL-STD-1913). Rear slide serrations offer a positive grasp, and the exposed spur hammer supports traditional DA/SA handling.
Sight alignment is straightforward with fixed 3-dot white sights: a single-dot front blade and a two-dot rear notch. The wrap-around 'sig pro' grip shell provides a secure hold, and this pistol includes a spare interchangeable grip shell.
Markings include SIGARMS, INC. EXETER–NH–USA and the early "Frame made in Switzerland" designation. The slide carries the model rollmark "SIG SP 2340," and the chamber is marked ".40 S&W." Magazines are steel, marked Made in Italy, and fitted with finger-rest baseplates. Manufacturer part number is 2340-40-B.
