Built on the Mosin-Nagant 91/30 platform and reworked in Finland, this rifle carries a SAKO barrel shank marked and dated 1938. It shows the "SK.Y" Civil Guard stamp and the boxed "SA" Finnish Army property mark, along with a Civil Guard buttstock cartouche (shield with "S" and spruce branches). These markings identify its path from Civil Guard issue to subsequent Finnish Army service.
The rifle uses a hex receiver and a 27 in barrel, with a blued steel receiver and components. It retains the fixed 5-round internal magazine, designed for loading via stripper clips, and a straight bolt handle with a round knob. The rear cocking piece safety is standard for the action.
Sighting is through 91/30-pattern open irons: a tangent rear sight with a sliding elevator and metric graduations, paired with a front post set in a banded base with protective ears. The rifle has a full-length handguard secured by two barrel bands.
