The AUG/A3 M1 retains the classic bullpup layout with a polymer stock/frame and an aluminum receiver, delivering compact handling without sacrificing barrel length. It uses a short-stroke gas piston system with a rotating bolt and an adjustable gas regulator, balancing reliable cycling with 5.56x45 ammunition.
The 16-inch quick-change barrel includes a three-prong flash hider and an integrated vertical foregrip on the barrel assembly. The barrel/receiver block is marked 5.56x45 /.223 Rem., reflecting its standard chamber markings.
A continuous 1913 Picatinny top rail and a left-side accessory rail provide straightforward mounting space for compatible accessories. Right-side ejection and a left-side charging handle support efficient operation, and sling attachment points are provided at the front and rear.
