- Two 8-round steel magazines (witness holes marked 4–8; baseplates stamped '2-86 44')
Built by Israel Military Industries and imported by Magnum Research, this Mark I retains the original single-action, gas-operated design with a rotating multi-lug bolt. The external spur hammer and single-action trigger give a consistent break, while ambidextrous, slide-mounted safety levers provide mirrored controls.
The 10-inch steel barrel is a heavy-profile unit with a full-length underlug. It carries an integral ramped front sight and a narrow top rib that has no scope-ring cuts. The rear sight is a low-profile fixed notch on the slide, aligning with the robust silhouette of the long-barrel configuration.
The slide wears vertical grasping serrations and a matte dark finish, matching the overall presentation. Textured black polymer grip panels with the IMI medallion offer secure purchase and period-correct styling for the Mark I series.
Import and model markings include: "MAGNUM RESEARCH INC., MINNEAPOLIS MINN. MADE IN ISRAEL." and "DESERT EAGLE -41/.44 MAGNUM PISTOL ISRAEL MILITARY INDUSTRIES." Two steel magazines are included, each with witness holes marked 4–8 and baseplates stamped '2-86 44', supporting the .44 Magnum 8+1 capacity.
