Made in China by Norinco, this Type 56-1 underfolder is a semiautomatic-only AK-47/Sporter chambered in 7.62x39 with a 16.3-inch barrel and a 30+1 stated capacity. It bears clear Labanu Inc., Ronkonkoma, NY import markings associated with the pre-1989 feature-based import era.
The rifle uses a stamped steel receiver with magazine-well dimples and a ribbed top cover, paired with a Chinese-pattern vented gas tube featuring three circular ports. Wood furniture includes two-piece lower handguards with longitudinal vents, a wood upper handguard, and a checkered wood pistol grip, all in the traditional Type 56 style.
The steel underfolding stock locks solidly and features the Chinese crutch-style buttplate with a blued finish. Length of pull measures 13.0 inches. Sights are the standard AK pattern: a hoodless open post front sight and a tangent rear sight for practical elevation adjustments.
The chrome-lined bore contributes to durability and ease of maintenance. The muzzle wears a plain cylindrical cap with an oblique, slant-cut face. Controls include a selector area marked with an "S." Operation is the proven AK system: semi-automatic, gas-operated long-stroke piston with a rotating bolt.
