The Performance Center Ported configuration pairs a stainless-steel, factory-ported 3.1 in barrel with a ported slide and lightening cuts. These features reduce muzzle rise and trim slide mass, and the slide is clearly marked with Performance Center branding alongside the M&P 9 SHIELD model designation.
Performance Center tuning includes a hinged trigger with a tuned sear and tuned striker plunger for a cleaner break. The striker-fired action runs in a durable stainless-steel slide and barrel assembly with a black protective finish, seated in a slim polymer frame.
Sighting is fast and clear thanks to a fiber-optic setup: a green front paired with a red, drift-adjustable rear. The pistol is marked on the right side with SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MA U.S.A. and is capable of firing with the magazine removed (no magazine-disconnect safety).
