The P17 is a compact, lightweight rimfire pistol designed around a straight-blowback, hammer-fired, single-action system. Weighing approximately 10.9 oz without the magazine and measuring 6.7 in long, it is easy to carry and quick to handle while offering a generous 16+1 capacity in .22 LR.
Controls are fully ambidextrous, including a paddle-style magazine release and manual safety, and the pistol incorporates a magazine disconnect safety. The single-action trigger is set at about 4.0 lb for a consistent pull, and an external slide stop provides straightforward manipulation.
The hardened-steel, 3.93 in threaded barrel uses a 1/2x28 pattern with a 1:14 RH twist, making it ready for common .22 LR muzzle devices. A factory thread protector and adapter/spacer are included. Sights consist of a fiber-optic green front blade paired with an adjustable square-notch rear for clear aiming and easy zeroing.
Construction features a clamshell polymer frame and polymer slide cover with external fasteners, using glass-reinforced nylon components over hardened-steel barrel, slide, and trunnion. An integral 3-slot Picatinny-style accessory rail supports common lights or training aids.
