The Model 28-2 Highway Patrolman is built on Smith & Wesson’s robust N-frame in carbon steel with a blued finish. It has a square-butt grip frame fitted with checkered walnut stocks bearing S&W medallions, delivering the period-correct configuration enthusiasts look for.
The 6-inch heavy barrel is pinned and paired with a shrouded ejector rod. Barrel legends read "SMITH & WESSON" on the left and ".357 CTG HIGHWAY PATROLMAN" on the right, matching its factory identification on the yoke cut.
Sight regulation is handled by a Baughman-style serrated ramp front sight and an adjustable micrometer rear sight. The topstrap and barrel rib are matte bead-blasted to cut glare, while the side flats are polished for a clean, traditional contrast.
This six-shot revolver features a fluted cylinder, DA/SA action, and a checkered cylinder-release thumbpiece. Factory markings include the S&W trademark rollmark and "MADE IN U.S.A. MARCAS REGISTRADAS SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS."
