Product Description

Savage Model 99E .300 Savage Lever-Action Rifle, 20 inch Barrel, 1969-1970, Tasco 4x40 C Scope on Weaver Pivot Mount

This Savage Model 99E is a Westfield, Massachusetts-made lever-action rifle chambered in .300 Savage from the 1969–1970 era. It features a 20 inch barrel, a 5-round internal rotary magazine without a cartridge-counter window, and a solid-top receiver. A Tasco 4x40 C scope is installed on a Weaver Pivot (flip) mount that swings aside to use the iron sights, creating a practical setup that is well-suited for hunting.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Overall Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.

Bore Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

The hardwood stock and beavertail forend show blemishes and scratches consistent with age and use. The blued finish on the metal has minor scratches and handling marks. The action cycles smoothly and functions properly.

    What's Included

    • Tasco Optics 4x40 C scope (fully coated, waterproof)
    • Weaver Pivot Mount (installed)

Chambered in .300 Savage with a 20 inch barrel, this Model 99E uses a 5-round internal rotary magazine and a solid-top receiver. This variant does not have a cartridge-counter window, aligning with the Model 99E configuration of the period.

The Tasco 4x40 C scope is mounted on a Weaver Pivot (flip) mount. The mount allows the optic to swing aside so the shooter can use the factory iron sights, which include a ramped front sight and a folding rear barrel sight.

Construction details include a blued steel barrel and receiver, along with a color-case-hardened lever. The hardwood stock features a pistol grip, checkered panels, and a beavertail forend, with a 13.5 inch length of pull for a comfortable fit.

Markings include "HI-PRESSURE STEEL, PROOF TESTED" and a Westfield, Massachusetts barrel address. This rifle was manufactured in the USA during 1969–1970.

The hammerless lever action operates smoothly, and the bore condition and rifling are solid, supporting dependable field performance. With the scope-and-pivot-mount setup retained alongside usable irons, the configuration is well-suited for hunting.
