Built on the FN commercial Mauser 98–type action, this rifle uses a large non-rotating external claw extractor and controlled-round feed. It has an internal 3+1 capacity box magazine and a hinged floorplate for easy unloading. The receiver is drilled and tapped, with two-piece scope bases already installed.
The 22-inch blued barrel is paired with classic iron sights: a hooded ramp front bead and a barrel-mounted adjustable open rear sight on a raised base. The sliding safety is mounted on the bolt shroud. The bore condition is excellent with sharp rifling, reflecting careful use.
The walnut stock shows hallmark Safari Grade details, including a Monte Carlo profile with a shadowline cheekpiece, cut checkering, sling swivel studs, Browning rosette-style cross-bolt escutcheons, and a Browning black buttplate. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches, offering a traditional hunting rifle fit.
Factory embellishments and markings add to its appeal. The blued floorplate and trigger guard feature light scroll engraving with gold highlights. Rollmarks include "MADE IN BELGIUM" and "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST LOUIS Mo. & MONTREAL P.Q." Belgian proofs are present, including crowned ELG in oval, Perron, lion over PV, star-over-letter inspector marks, and the Liège date letter phi. The barrel and bolt carry matching serial numbers (number not disclosed), consistent with original manufacture.
