The A-Bolt II action uses a three-lug bolt with a short 60-degree lift for fast cycling and solid lock-up. Controls include a tang-mounted safety with a red fire dot and a cocking indicator. Feeding is from an internal detachable box magazine retained within a hinged floorplate, with typical capacity of 4+1 rounds in .223 Rem.
The 22-inch blued sporter-contour barrel is cleanly finished and set up without iron sights. The receiver is drilled and tapped, and the rifle comes fitted with Leupold-marked bases and rings, ready for the buyer to add a scope of choice.
The stock is gloss-finished walnut with cut checkering for a confident hold. It is equipped with QD sling swivel studs and a Browning hard buttplate, and has a 14.0-inch length of pull. A leather shoulder sling with QD swivels is installed.
Manufactured by Miroku in Japan, the barrel bears the Morgan, Utah/Made in Japan address and an NP stamp on the shank. The barrel is rollmarked with U.S. Patent 4,723,369. The serial suffix MX351 denotes A-Bolt II centerfire production in 2003.
