The M&P Bodyguard 380 is a micro-size, .380 ACP, double-action-only pistol with an internal hammer and short-recoil operation. It offers second-strike capability, providing another try on a stubborn primer without cycling the slide.
The barrel measures 2.75 inches, with an overall length of approximately 5.25 inches and an unloaded weight of about 12 oz. The slide and barrel are stainless steel with a black Melonite-type finish, balancing durability and a low-profile appearance. Capacity is 6+1 rounds.
Factory steel sights are low profile and drift-adjustable front and rear, paired with rear fish-scale slide serrations for positive manipulation. The glass-filled polymer frame has a textured grip with a finger-groove frontstrap for secure handling.
A factory-integrated Crimson Trace red laser is built into the frame with ambidextrous side activation. It offers selectable constant-on, pulse, and off modes, and is adjustable for windage and elevation. The frame marking indicates the pistol can fire with the magazine removed.
