Loewe Chilean Mauser Modelo 1895 Barreled Receiver — 7.62 NATO Arsenal Conversion, Pre-DWM Marked, Small-Ring Mauser
This Chilean Contract Mauser Modelo 1895 shows pre-DWM Ludwig Loewe Berlin manufacture with the Chilean coat of arms on the receiver ring and a D-prefix serial. It is an arsenal-converted 7.62 NATO barreled receiver with a long, stepped barrel and the original small-ring Mauser receiver featuring charger-guide cuts. Markings include factory, crest, and import/caliber stamps, making it a solid parts-only foundation with clear historical identifiers. Not an antique because of the conversion to modern ammunition. What’s Included
- Loewe Chilean Mauser Modelo 1895 small-ring receiver with long, stepped barrel installed (arsenal conversion to 7.62 NATO)
- Front-sight block (blade not installed)
Produced by Ludwig Loewe Berlin prior to the company’s transition into DWM, this receiver is marked on the left rail with "MAUSER CHILENO MODELO 1895. MANUFACTURA LOEWE BERLIN" and carries the Chilean coat of arms on the receiver ring. The small-ring action includes integral charger-guide cuts on the rear bridge, consistent with the 1895 pattern.
This example was arsenal converted from the original 7×57 mm to 7.62 NATO. It is additionally marked "7.62" over "N" on the receiver underside. The barrel shows an import/caliber stamp "308 CAL." near the muzzle along with a partially legible U.S. importer/city-state marking.
The configuration is parts only: a forged-steel, small-ring Mauser receiver paired with a long, stepped rifle-pattern barrel. The front-sight block is installed, but no front or rear sights are included. Assembly/inspection numbers are present under the receiver/barrel channel, with a five-point star and the number "44" on the barrel shank. The serial prefix is "D."
This is a stripped barreled action offered for parts only. Not an antique because of conversion to modern ammunition. FFL required.
