The Model 700 ML uses an inline bolt-action, single-shot design with percussion-cap ignition on a nipple and a removable breech plug. The barrel is clearly marked: "USE BLACK POWDER OR PYRODEX ONLY - NEVER USE SMOKELESS POWDER."
The 24-inch barrel and matte gray metalwork are paired with a black synthetic stock that has molded checkering, a Monte Carlo cheekpiece, a rubber recoil pad, and sling swivel studs. Length of pull is 13.0 inches.
It retains functional open sights, including a hoodless ramped front blade and an adjustable rear sight on the barrel. The mounted Bushnell Sportview scope with a duplex reticle is secured in two rings.
Additional details include an aluminum under-barrel ramrod with a knurled palm-saver tip and a 1-round capacity. The barrel carries the WX code, and the rifle was made in the United States.
