The SP2022 is part of the SIG Pro series, built on a durable black polymer frame with textured 'SIG Pro' grip panels. It operates on a short-recoil, locked-breech Browning-type system and uses a hammer-fired DA/SA trigger with an external spur and decocking lever. Internal safeties include a firing pin block, disconnector, and intercept notch.
The Nitron black slide features rear cocking serrations, a flat-top profile, and a right-side ejection port. Sighting is straightforward and durable with a fixed 3-dot setup: a green dot front blade paired with a drift-adjustable rear notch.
Controls are user-friendly, including a reversible magazine release and an integral lanyard loop at the rear of the grip. A molded Picatinny/M1913 accessory rail with multiple cross-slots is integrated into the dust cover for mounting compatible accessories.
This model carries 15+1 rounds of 9mm Luger and uses a 3.9-inch barrel. It comes with two factory 15-round magazines and retains clear provenance markings: "SIG SAUER INC., EXETER–NH" with the frame marked "FRAME MADE IN GERMANY."
