This Edge is built on STI’s 2011 double-stack platform and chambered in .40 S&W, with a stated capacity of 16+1. It uses a 5-inch bushingless bull barrel with a full-length guide rod for a robust, cone-profile lockup. The steel frame has a heavy government-length dustcover that adds front-end mass.
The sighting setup includes a red fiber-optic front blade in a dovetail and a fully adjustable target-style rear sight branded “STI International,” with an “UP” elevation marking. The slide carries front and rear diagonal cocking serrations and a lowered, flared ejection port for reliable case clearance.
Controls and ergonomics are competition-focused, with an ambidextrous thumb safety and an extended beavertail grip safety featuring a raised pad. A long, skeletonized trigger with relief cuts and a skeletonized commander-style hammer complete the ignition system. The large flared magwell, marked “sTi,” speeds reloads.
The modular polymer 2011 grip has molded checkering and STI medallions for a secure hold. Distinctive factory markings include “STI EDGE” on the left slide, an STI logo in a Texas outline on the right side, “STI INTERNATIONAL GEORGETOWN, TX USA” on the top of the slide, and a chamber hood marked “40 S&W.” Made in the USA, this model ceased regular production after STI rebranded to Staccato.
