What’s Included
- Colt AR-15 A2 Sporter II rifle (Model R6500)
- Two 30-round magazines
- One 20-round magazine
The A2 upper receiver includes the brass deflector and round forward assist, along with the carry-handle A2 rear sight offering windage and elevation adjustments. Up front, the fixed A2 front sight base features protective ears and a bayonet lug, matching the period-correct configuration.
The 20-inch barrel has a 1:7 twist and is threaded for the A1 birdcage flash suppressor. Its "C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7" marking denotes Colt proof and magnetic-particle inspection, and the rifle uses a rifle-length gas system for the classic full-length setup.
Receivers are forged aluminum with an anodized finish, and the carry handle shows the "C M" forging code. This example retains early AR-15 characteristics like the large two-screw front pivot pin and a round slip ring for the handguards.
Furniture is the A2 pattern: a fixed polymer stock with a 13.5-inch length of pull and rear sling loop, an A2 pistol grip, and rifle-length A2 ribbed polymer handguards. The rifle uses a manual safety selector and has a 30+1 capacity. The lower is marked .223 while the barrel is marked 5.56 NATO, consistent with this period of Colt production.
