This is an uncommon 5.56x45 NATO chambering in an RPK-pattern configuration. The SA RPK-5S was produced in a limited run, with a very limited follow-on release announced in May 2015, making examples like this notably scarce and desirable to collectors.
The rifle uses a forged-then-milled steel receiver with the classic long external lightening cut. The left side carries the AK side optics rail, and the receiver is marked "Model SA RPK-5S" and "Cal 5.56x45" along with the Arsenal logo and "LAS VEGAS, NEV. U.S.A." import stamp.
Barrel features include a 23.25 inch heavy RPK-profile tube with a 1:7 twist, a factory steel folding bipod, and a 14 mm threaded muzzle with a slotted flash hider installed. The iron sights are the AK pattern front post and the RPK tangent rear sight with windage drum, with range markings visible in red.
Furniture consists of blond hardwood: a two-piece handguard and a clubfoot buttstock with rear sling loop, paired with a black polymer pistol grip. The rifle operates via a semi-automatic, long-stroke gas piston system with a rotating bolt and a right-side selector. Capacity is 30+1.
