The original G1 Contender frame features factory scroll engraving with the cougar motif on both sides, a defining hallmark of this early series. The blued receiver and frame present with the period-correct finish, and the serial number is stamped on the back of the grip frame.
The pistol is configured with a 10-inch .22 LR bull barrel and factory iron sights. The front is a ramped, screw-retained blade, while the rear is a fully adjustable unit mounted to the barrel with two screws for precise alignment.
Its single-action, break-open, single-shot design uses an exposed hammer with a rimfire/centerfire selector and a serrated spur. The hammer-mounted selector works with dual firing-pin apertures, and the tunable trigger supports fine adjustment to the shooter’s preference.
Hardwood target furniture includes a finger-groove grip with a palm swell and a matching beavertail forend, providing a stable hold that complements the heavy-profile barrel.
As part of the Contender platform, this G1 accepts interchangeable barrels, offering flexibility for future caliber or barrel changes while retaining the engraved frame and controls that define this configuration.
