The Model 500A receiver features right-side ejection with a left-side action release and dual action bars for smooth cycling. An internal tube magazine provides a 4+1 capacity in 12 gauge, and the tang safety is easy to access from either side.
The anodized aluminum-alloy receiver and steel barrels wear a Mossy Oak-licensed camouflage finish that extends across the synthetic stock and forend. The stock includes a straight comb, molded checkering for grip, and a rubber buttpad, with a 14.0-inch length of pull for a consistent mount.
This two-barrel setup covers different sighting needs. The 28-inch vent-rib smoothbore barrel uses a single front bead and a mid-rib bead for quick alignment. The second 24-inch smoothbore barrel is ported and fitted with a ramped front sight and an adjustable rear sight, providing a clear sight picture when iron sights are preferred.
