Winchester Model 1890 Third Model Takedown .22 Short Pump-Action Rifle, 24-inch Octagon Barrel (1917)
This Winchester Model 1890 is a Third Model, takedown, Standard Grade rifle chambered specifically for .22 Short and built in 1917. It features a 24-inch octagonal barrel, an open-top, top-eject receiver with Third Model bolt-locking cuts, and classic walnut furniture with a steel crescent buttplate. A John Browning-designed slide-action rimfire, it retains its barrel top rollmark and period-correct configuration. SELLING AS IS.
The takedown design simplifies separation of the barrel/magazine assembly from the receiver for transport or maintenance. The 24-inch octagon barrel pairs with an under-barrel tubular magazine for a listed capacity of 20+1 in .22 Short.
Furniture is the Standard Grade configuration: a straight-grip, uncheckered walnut stock and a grooved walnut slide handle, finished with a steel crescent buttplate. Length of pull measures 12.75 inches.
Markings include the barrel top rollmark "WINCHESTER – MOD. 1890 –". Serial numbers are located on the lower tang and the bottom front of the receiver, with a small "A" stamp noted.
Sight provisions include a dovetailed blade front. The barrel’s rear sight dovetail is present but no rear sight is installed.
