The P239 is a compact, single-stack SIG P-series pistol chambered in .40 S&W with a 7+1 capacity. It uses a DA/SA, hammer-fired system with an exposed spur and classic left-side controls, including a decocking lever positioned forward of the slide catch. A push-button magazine release supports intuitive reloads.
Construction pairs a hard-anodized black aluminum-alloy frame with a stainless-steel slide marked "STAINLESS" and finished in black. The slide includes rear serrations and an external extractor. The dustcover is smooth, giving the pistol a streamlined profile.
Its sights are dovetailed and fixed, with a front blade featuring a red dot and a rear notch with twin green fiber-optic inserts. The rear sight is drift-adjustable, allowing precise lateral alignment to the shooter’s preference.
The frame is German-made and import-marked "SIGARMS INC. EXETER – NH, FRAME MADE IN GERMANY," aligning with the model’s reputation for quality manufacturing. One-piece textured black polymer grips provide secure, consistent hand placement.
