This ZEV O.Z-9 Hyper-Comp stands out with its compact slide, island-ported 4-inch barrel, and RMR-pattern optic cut. It features ZEV's modular O.Z-9 steel receiver with a removable grip module, an Icarus grip, and a Timney flat-faced trigger with safety blade. It accepts Glock-pattern magazines and includes both 21- and 17-round options. Made in Centralia, Washington, USA.
The Hyper-Comp configuration uses an island barrel with four vertical ports to manage muzzle movement. The front sight is mounted to the barrel island, so it does not reciprocate with the slide. A windowed slide reduces reciprocating mass, complementing the barrel system.
The O.Z-9 design centers around a full-length steel receiver that enhances rigidity and allows grip module interchangeability. This example uses an Icarus grip module and retains practical features like a reversible magazine release with a textured face and an integral accessory rail on the dust cover.
The pistol is striker-fired with a Timney flat-faced trigger featuring a safety blade. Iron sights include a black front sight fixed to the barrel island and a plain black rear notch, providing a clean, unobstructed sight picture.
