This Rock Island Armory M206 is the compact, 2-inch snub-nose variant of the M200 series, built on a steel frame with a Parkerized finish. It features a six-shot swing-out cylinder, DA/SA operation with a transfer bar, and fixed sights for a straightforward, durable setup. Distinctive touches include the Colt-style rearward-pull cylinder latch and a squared ejector-rod shroud. It comes with black finger-groove rubber grips installed and includes separate checkered hardwood grip panels.

The M206 pairs a compact 2-inch steel barrel with a robust steel frame and cylinder, all finished in a Parkerized treatment for a uniform, matte look. The .38 Special chambering feeds a six-shot, swing-out cylinder. Operation is DA/SA with an exposed hammer, and a transfer bar serves as the primary safety feature.
Controls and sighting are straightforward and purpose-built. The cylinder releases via a Colt-style rearward-pull latch, and the squared ejector-rod shroud protects the rod. Sights are fixed, with a ramped front blade and a top-strap groove at the rear for a snag-resistant profile.
Grip options are included. The revolver is fitted with black finger-groove rubber grips bearing RIA medallions, and a set of separate checkered hardwood grip panels comes in the box. Markings include “Model 206 CAL .38 SPL.” on the barrel and the Rock Island Armory crest on the frame.
Barrel specs include a right-hand 1:16 twist with six grooves. Overall length is about 6.75 inches, with an unloaded weight of approximately 25 oz. The factory box label notes manufacture in the Philippines, and the revolver corresponds to RIA part number 51283.
