This Government Model is a true factory 9mm configuration. The 70L serial prefix and the caliber markings on the barrel hood and slide confirm its original 9mm Luger chambering. Capacity is 8+1 with the included 8-round magazines.
As a Series '70 pistol, it uses the pre-Series 80 firing system with no firing pin block. The single-action operation, full-size frame, and 5 inch barrel deliver the classic 1911 handling characteristics. It has GI-style fixed sights with a ramped front and a low-profile square-notch rear.
Controls and small parts are era-correct: single-side thumb safety, grip safety, spur hammer, short serrated trigger, and a standard magazine release. The slide has rear-only, vertical cocking serrations and an un-lowered ejection port.
The carbon steel frame and slide wear polished blued flats with matte rounds for a traditional Colt presentation. Made in the United States in 1980, this pistol is fitted with Crimson Trace wraparound Lasergrips and is ready with two 8-round magazines and a hardcase.
