The Model 700 Classic was produced annually in a single caliber, and 2002 was dedicated to the .221 Remington Fireball. This one-year chambering adds clear collector interest alongside the rifle’s clean presentation and correct factory features.
The 24 in sporter-contour barrel is carbon steel with a recessed crown and no iron sights. It uses a 1:14 RH twist optimized for the cartridge and is finished in a deep, even blue. The barrel is rollmarked "Remington Arms Company Inc., Ilion, NY .221 Rem. Fireball."
The receiver is blued steel and factory drilled and tapped, with two-piece scope bases already installed. It is rollmarked "Remington MODEL 700" and carries the Remington REP proofmark on the barrel with an adjacent inspector’s stamp. The bolt body is jeweled, and feeding is handled by an internal box magazine with a hinged steel floorplate for easy unloading.
