The M45A1 configuration combines a stainless steel slide and frame finished in coyote brown Ionbond with Colt's Series 80 firing pin safety system. It is a full-size 1911 platform with a 5-inch National Match barrel marked "COLT .45 AUTO N.M." on the hood and a dual recoil spring assembly.
Factory Trijicon tritium night sights are installed in a three-dot arrangement, with the front sight bearing an H3 16 date code. The slide includes front and rear serrations, and the ejection port is lowered and flared for reliable ejection.
The dustcover integrates a MIL-STD-1913/Picatinny rail for mounting accessories. The right-side dustcover is marked "U.S." and carries a MIL-STD-130 style UID/Data Matrix label. Slide markings read "COLT***M45A1" on the left and "COLT GOVERNMENT MODEL" on the right. The serial format features an EGA suffix.
Controls and furniture include a long, solid trigger; a skeletonized rowel-type hammer; textured layered G10 grip panels; and Series 80, 1911-pattern safeties (thumb safety, grip safety, and firing pin block). Capacity is 7+1 with the included 7-round magazine. Manufactured in the USA, Colt part number 01070M45, with production dating to 2016–2018.
