The Model 4006 pairs an all-stainless steel slide and frame with a matte finish for a robust, full-size .40 S&W platform. It uses a 4-inch barrel and a locked-breech, recoil-operated system with an external spur hammer. The frame features a squared, serrated trigger guard and factory machine-checkered front strap, while the wraparound synthetic grip includes checkering and S&W medallions for a secure hold.
The pistol runs a DA/SA trigger with an ambidextrous slide-mounted safety/decocker and a firing pin block. The slide is cut with rear serrations and a lowered ejection port for reliable extraction and easy manipulation. Sights are iron, with a fixed front blade and a factory adjustable rear for fine-tuning point of impact.
Capacity is 11+1 with detachable double-column magazines, and this firearm comes with two factory S&W steel magazines. Markings include "MOD 4006" on the frame and ".40 S&W" on the barrel hood, consistent with the model and caliber designations.
As part of Smith & Wesson’s Third-Generation metal-frame line made in the USA, the 4006 earned broad adoption with U.S. law enforcement throughout the 1990s and early 2000s. This example arrives with a hard case, manual, and duty gear to round out a complete, ready-to-use package.
