Built on a stamped AKM-pattern receiver with a black/blue finish, this SA 2000M retains the classic long-stroke gas piston system with a rotating bolt and right-side safety/charging handle. The rifle is chambered in 7.62x39 and uses a factory single-stack 10-round magazine, yielding a 10+1 capacity.
Furniture consists of a Choate Tool-branded polymer thumbhole/skeletonized stock paired with a polymer handguard. The length of pull measures 14.5 inches, and the overall finish presents a clean black appearance consistent with the era and configuration.
The sights are traditional AKM: a protected front post and a rear tangent leaf graduated from 100 to 800 meters with an "A" setting. While this rifle does not have a factory left-side optics rail, an aftermarket ribbed receiver cover with an integral Picatinny rail is installed.
A pinned two-chamber muzzle brake is fitted to the 16-inch barrel. Import and manufacturer markings include "K.B.I., INC. HARRISBURG, PA," the FEG hex logo, and "MADE IN HUNGARY," aligning with its late-1990s to 2000 import timeline.
