The FNP-40 delivers DA/SA, hammer-fired operation with an external spurred hammer and ambidextrous decocker, offering a familiar service-style manual of arms. A left-side magazine release and textured polymer grips support consistent, controlled handling.
Construction is robust, with a stainless-steel slide finished in matte black PVD for durability and corrosion resistance. Rear-only slide serrations and an external extractor contribute to confident manipulation and reliable cycling.
The 4.0 inch cold hammer-forged barrel is built for longevity. Fixed 3-dot, dovetailed sights provide a straightforward, snag-resistant sight picture suited to a defensive or duty role.
The polymer frame keeps weight manageable and integrates a single cross-slot accessory rail for mounting a compact light or laser. Capacity is 10+1 in .40 S&W, and the pistol retains the FNP series architecture that led into the later FNX line.
Originating from FNH USA in Fredericksburg, VA, this example also features a serial number tag inset under the dustcover, consistent with the series design details.
