The Ruger-57 uses a delayed-blowback operating system paired with Ruger’s Secure Action internal-hammer mechanism. It incorporates layered safety features, including an ambidextrous manual safety, a bladed trigger safety, and internal hammer, sear, and firing-pin safeties.
The slide is finished in black oxide and includes front and rear cocking serrations for positive manipulation, plus a lightening window. It is optics-ready via drilled-and-tapped mounting points, giving the owner flexibility in sighting options.
Sights are set up for fast acquisition and precise adjustment: a green fiber-optic front and a fully adjustable rear. The frame is glass-filled nylon with a textured grip, and an accessory rail allows for mounting a light or laser.
The 4.94 in alloy steel barrel features 8-groove rifling with a 1:9 in right-hand twist for 5.7x28mm. Capacity is 20+1, and this pistol comes with one 20-round steel magazine with witness holes. This 2022 production example is noted as outside Ruger’s early right-side safety-lever retrofit campaign.
