The Canebrake configuration pairs a 5.5-inch .300 AAC Blackout barrel with an extended SD-length, free-float aluminum handguard that has multiple M-LOK-style slots and no forward top rail. A full-length 1913 Picatinny rail runs across the receiver for mounting sights and accessories.
Its short-stroke gas piston system includes adjustable settings for suppressed or unsuppressed use. The upper is a slick-side design without a forward assist, and the muzzle is threaded with a factory SIG Inert Training Device installed.
Controls are streamlined and modern: an ambidextrous safety and ambidextrous charging handle, with a right-side magazine release. The two-stage, flat-blade Matchlite-type trigger provides a defined pull, and the pistol uses a SIG-branded polymer grip.
The MCX architecture eliminates the buffer tube and uses a rear 1913 Picatinny interface. The aluminum receiver wears a coyote tan Cerakote (E190) within a two-tone coyote tan/black finish. Markings include "SIG SAUER INC NEWINGTON NH USA," "SIG MCX MULTI-CALIBER," and the "RATTLER" nameplate. Capacity is 30+1 with the included magazine, and the twist rate is 1:5. Made in the USA.
