This Heritage Commemorative is a Colt Blackpowder Series reproduction of the 1847 Walker, produced in 1980. It follows the original open-top Colt percussion design with a wedge-retained barrel and the Walker-type loading lever with plunger. The barrel top flat carries the correct "ADDRESS. SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY" marking for period authenticity.
Factory embellishments distinguish this edition. Gold-inlaid side lugs frame gold ovals depicting Samuel Walker and Samuel Colt, complemented by a gold "U.S. 1847" inlay and a gold-inlaid "The Colt Heritage Commemorative" plaque. The cylinder bears the Ormsby-style roll-engraved scene with "MODEL U.S.M.R." and "COLT'S PATENT" legends.
Materials and finishes are consistent with premium Blackpowder Series production: a blued steel barrel and cylinder, a color case-hardened steel frame, and a brass square-back trigger guard. The revolver wears a one-piece walnut grip with an oil finish. Sighting is traditional, with a German-silver blade front and a hammer-notch rear.
Commemorative "C COMPANY" numbering is applied to the buttcap/backstrap, frame flats, and cylinder, providing uniform presentation across the revolver. Chambered in .44 with a 6-shot cylinder and single-action operation, this piece combines display-worthy detailing with Colt’s faithful recreation of the Walker’s form and markings.
