What's Included
- Sako L61R Finnbear .270 Win bolt-action rifle with Orvis-marked barrel and custom walnut stock
- Installed scope mounts
This rifle pairs Sako's renowned L61R long-action with The Orvis Company's gunsmithing. The receiver is the desirable pre-AIII pattern, with Sako's integral tapered dovetail scope-mounting surfaces. Factory proof and inspection stamps are present on the receiver, and the barrel is clearly stamped THE ORVIS COMPANY, MANCHESTER, VERMONT.
The Orvis-marked 24.4-inch sporter-contour barrel is chambered in .270 Winchester and set up without iron sights. Scope mounts are installed. The excellent, mirror-bright bore with sharp rifling reflects careful maintenance.
The action is a push-feed bolt with front locking lugs. Feeding is via an internal box magazine with a stated 5+1 capacity, and unloading is simplified by a hinged floorplate with a lever release. A two-position safety is fitted.
The custom walnut stock is tailored for right-handed use with a shadowline cheekpiece. It wears fine bordered cut checkering at the grip and forend, a dark contrasting forend tip, and sling-swivel studs front and rear. A Pachmayr recoil pad with a black spacer completes the build.
Manufactured in the 1970s (1974–1977), this Finland-made Sako L61R Finnbear offers a classic long-action configuration with Orvis provenance and custom appointments, presenting as a well-kept hunting rifle with quality fit and finish.
