Product Description

Winchester M1 Garand .30-06, 1944 WWII, Red River Army Depot (RRAD) Rebuild, 24 in Barrel

This 1944-production Winchester M1 Garand is a Red River Army Depot rebuild that retains its classic WWII character with verifiable USGI details. The receiver heel is marked 'U.S. RIFLE CAL. .30 M1 WINCHESTER TRADE MARK.' It features a parkerized finish, mixed USGI components, and a 24-inch barrel with the standard internal 8-round en-bloc system.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Overall Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.

Bore Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: The original parkerized finish on the receiver and barrel shows expected thinning at high-contact points such as the gas cylinder and operating rod track, with scattered superficial scratches. The bore is mirror-bright with sharp, well-defined rifling.

    What’s Included

    • Leather M1907-style service sling (installed)

Built on a Winchester receiver from 1944, this rifle carries the factory heel legend 'U.S. RIFLE CAL. .30 M1 WINCHESTER TRADE MARK.' It later went through Red River Army Depot, a known postwar refurbishment program that kept service rifles in the field, and the buttstock shows the RRAD rebuild stamp along with a squared P proof on the pistol grip.

The rifle incorporates mixed USGI parts consistent with an arsenal rebuild. Notable components include an IHC-marked bolt '6528287 IHC D19' and a WRA-marked trigger guard 'C46025 W.R.A.' These markings document its service life and parts interchange typical of depot work.

Core configuration remains true to the M1 pattern: a 24-inch barrel, standard gas cylinder with stacking swivel and bayonet lug, and a slotted gas cylinder lock screw. It feeds from an internal 8-round en-bloc clip and uses a standard M1 crown with no muzzle device.

Sighting equipment is USGI pattern, with a wing-protected front post and a rear aperture adjustable for windage and elevation, flanked by protective wings. These robust iron sights complement the rifle’s intended service role.

The hardwood stock set includes full-length furniture with two-piece handguards and a checkered steel buttplate with trapdoor. Length of pull measures 13.0 inches. The parkerized steel receiver and long-stroke gas piston, rotating-bolt action reflect the rifle’s U.S. manufacture and WWII-era origins.
