Bond Arms Stubby Rough Series .22 LR Derringer, 2.2 in Stainless Double Barrel, Micro, 2-Round, USA
This Bond Arms Stubby from the Rough Series is a micro-size, stainless-steel over/under derringer chambered in .22 LR and built on the Stinger RS frame. It features a 2.2 in stainless double barrel, matte stainless Rough Series finish, and thin-profile nylon grip panels with the Texas-star motif. This is an early-run configuration produced prior to the SSS-014425 front-sight change, where the small front nub serves mainly as a horizontal reference. Made in the USA.

Constructed on the stainless-steel Stinger RS frame with the Rough Series matte finish, the Stubby pairs a compact footprint with rugged materials. The over/under, tip-up double barrel measures 2.2 in and is secured by a left-side break-action latch. A right-side manual extractor tab provides straightforward case removal. There is no trigger guard, and the exposed spur hammer operates the single-action mechanism.
Sighting is fixed and minimal by design: a small front sight nub and a plain topstrap serve as the reference. As an early-run example predating the SSS-014425 update, the front nub functions primarily as a horizontal index. Controls include a cross-bolt safety clearly marked 'Push For Fire.'
Despite its micro size, the Stubby retains the hallmark Bond Arms derringer layout with two-shot capacity. Dimensions are approximately 4.25 in overall length, 3.75 in height, and 0.88 in width, with an unloaded weight around 13.3 oz. The thin-profile black nylon grips with Texas-star motif keep the profile trim while maintaining a secure hold.
Bond Arms notes that rimfire barrels are factory matched and test-fired to their frames, a point especially relevant for this .22 LR configuration. The listed MSRP is 297 dollars, underscoring its position as a value-forward entry in the Rough Series lineup.
