Henry H001TMLP Small Game Carbine .22 WMR Lever-Action, 17 in Octagon Barrel, Large-Loop, Skinner Peep Target Sights, 10-Round
This Henry Small Game Carbine stands out as the .22 WMR variant with a 17-inch octagon steel barrel, factory Skinner rear peep and brass-bead front target sights, and a large-loop lever. It pairs American walnut furniture with a blued/black finish, weighs about 5.75 lb unloaded, and is made in the USA. The receiver cover includes 3/8 in grooves for tip-off rings, and the tubular magazine holds 10 rounds.
Chambered in .22 Magnum, the H001TMLP balances classic lever-action operation with practical field features. The right-side ejection, quarter-cock hammer notch, and removable inner brass magazine tube with a knurled knob for front loading make it straightforward to run and maintain. The 1:16 RH twist and crisp sight picture support precise shooting.
The factory Skinner-branded rear peep mounted on the receiver cover works with a ramped brass-bead front to deliver a target-style sight picture and fast alignment. The receiver cover’s 3/8 in grooves accept tip-off rings if you choose to mount rings compatible with that interface. These target sights are a defining feature of the Small Game Carbine configuration.
Build details include an American walnut straight-grip stock and walnut fore-end, a single barrel band, and a black polymer buttplate molded HENRY. The aluminum alloy receiver has a black finish matched to the blued octagon barrel. Barrel rollmarks read: HENRY REPEATING ARMS – BAYONNE, NJ – MADE IN USA and CAL. 22 MAGNUM.

The 17 in octagon steel barrel gives the carbine a steady sighting plane and traditional look, while the .22 WMR chambering adds range and punch for small game and pest control. The 10-round tubular magazine is serviced from the front via a removable brass inner tube.
Handling is enhanced by the large-loop lever, a 13.75 in length of pull, and an unloaded weight around 5.75 lb. The quarter-cock hammer notch provides a practical safety feature, and right-side ejection maintains consistent operation. The combination of the peep rear and brass-bead front qualifies as target sights and offers a precise, uncluttered sight picture.
Additional functional touches include the receiver cover’s 3/8 in grooves for tip-off rings, a single barrel band for fore-end retention, and a black polymer buttplate with molded HENRY branding. Materials and finishes are purpose-chosen: a blued/black exterior, an aluminum alloy receiver, and durable American walnut furniture.
