The AUG A3 M2 Extended Rail is configured for .300 AAC Blackout with a dedicated six-position gas regulator offering LV for subsonic-suppressed use and an OFF setting. Its gas-operated, short-stroke piston system runs a rotating bolt for reliable function tailored to .300 BLK loads.
The 16 in barrel is a detachable quick-change assembly with a threaded muzzle and installed flash hider. This setup provides easy barrel removal, straightforward maintenance, and flexibility for .300 BLK use cases.
Furniture and controls follow the AUG pattern: a black polymer stock that accepts standard AUG magazines (non-NATO), an AUG-pattern vertical front grip, a push-through safety, and a standard magazine release. Ejection is to the right, and the charging-handle track is on the left side.
Mounting surfaces include a full-length Picatinny top rail and a short right-side accessory rail. No iron sights are installed from the factory, allowing the user to configure the rifle as desired.
U.S. origin and markings are present, with the barrel marked MADE IN USA and the receiver marked Bessemer, AL. The rifle corresponds to Steyr Arms USA part number AUGM2BLKEXT300, and accompanying paperwork is dated in 2024.
