Built in Brazil and imported by Taurus International Mfg., this Model 63 mirrors the original Winchester design while using modern production. It is a semi-automatic blowback .22 LR with top ejection and a 23" steel barrel, offering the classic handling characteristics associated with the pattern.
The rifle uses a buttstock tubular magazine with a captive inner magazine tube accessed through a twist-lock buttplate latch, providing a 10+1 capacity. A fore-end tip cocking rod is integrated for charging. Sighting is straightforward with a plain blade front and an open leaf rear with a stepped elevator.
Construction is steel with a polished blued finish on the receiver and barrel. The furniture is smooth, walnut-finished hardwood, featuring a pistol-grip buttstock and a slim fore-end. It has a 13.5" length of pull and weighs approximately 4.5 lb, giving it a trim, easy-carry profile.
This example reflects the limited U.S. import window from roughly 2003–2007 and bears the TAURUS INT. MFG., MIAMI, FL – USA markings along with the Taurus bull crest. It is built with takedown construction for convenient transport and storage, and the receiver and outer carton carry matching serial information.
