Built on a stainless steel frame and slide finished in black DLC/PVD, this Combat Unit variant retains the classic non-railed Government-length profile and a standard barrel bushing. The action is single-action, short-recoil operated, with a Series 80 firing pin block for added internal safety.
Ergonomics and control features include 25 LPI checkering on both the front strap and mainspring housing, an undercut trigger guard, and an upswept beavertail grip safety with a raised memory pad. It uses a solid, medium-length trigger and a skeletonized rowel-style hammer, and the magazine-well mouth is beveled to aid reloads.
The pistol wears Novak-style low-mount fixed sights with a dovetailed front post featuring a single dot and a plain black rear secured by a top set screw. The slide adds both front and rear cocking serrations and a lowered and flared ejection port for reliable ejection and positive manipulation.
Its 5-inch National Match barrel is paired with a short GI-length recoil spring guide rod and a checkered recoil spring plug. This setup preserves traditional 1911 takedown while emphasizing fit and function.
Factory rollmarks are present: 'COMBAT UNIT' on the right side of the slide, and 'GOVERNMENT MODEL' and 'COLT' with the prancing pony on the left. The frame carries the Hartford, Conn., U.S.A. manufacturer address. Capacity is 8+1 with the included 8-round magazine. Made in the United States.
