The P229 Legion pairs a stainless steel slide and aluminum-alloy frame, both finished in Legion Gray. Its compact profile centers on a 3.9-inch barrel with an overall length of approximately 7.1 inches, offering a duty-ready form factor in a lighter alloy-frame package.
Legion-series ergonomics include checkered black G10 grips with chevron medallions, front strap checkering, and a checkered pad under the trigger guard. A beavertail frame and low-profile controls (decocker, slide catch, takedown) support confident manipulation. Front and rear slide serrations aid press checks and administrative handling.
The slide is optics cut and currently hosts the SIG Sauer ROMEO1 PRO red dot. The optic provides a 30 mm window, 1x magnification, 12 brightness settings (10 daylight/2 NV), an approximate 20,000-hour runtime, and an IPX-7 waterproof rating on the PRO/RX footprint. Iron sights are present, with a tall green-dot front sight and a rear iron sight that is largely obscured by the mounted optic.
Capacity is 15+1, and two 15-round magazines are included. The dust cover features an integral three-slot accessory rail (P229R pattern) for lights or other rail-mounted equipment. The frame is marked SIG SAUER INC., NEWINGTON–NH–USA, and the pistol is built in the USA.
