The Apache Black (AB) series pairs a bright chrome-finished barrel and stamped steel receiver cover with a glossy black Zytel-101 nylon stock and receiver shell. The stock features molded checkering, white line spacers, a white diamond inlay, and the round Remington Nylon 66 medallion.
It is a blowback-operated, semi-automatic .22 LR with a top-ejection design. Controls include a cross-bolt safety and a right-side charging handle. The chamber is marked "Remington .22 L R ONLY."
Sighting is via open iron sights: a ramped front with integral blade and protective ears, and a screw-adjustable rear sight mounted on the receiver cover. The receiver cover also has integral 3/8 in tip-off scope grooves.
