This Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 Sport is a dedicated .22 LR AR-pattern rimfire with lightweight polymer receivers, a 16.5 in threaded carbon steel barrel, and Magpul MOE furniture. It features a slim M-LOK handguard with a continuous top Picatinny rail and ships with an M&P-branded red/green dot optic installed. Built as a dedicated .22 LR AR-pattern rifle, the M&P15-22 Sport uses a simple blowback action and maintains familiar AR-15 style controls and charging handle. It includes a manual safety selector with SAFE/FIRE markings and a last-round bolt hold-open, giving it handling characteristics that mirror centerfire ARs.
The 16.5 in carbon steel barrel has a carbine-length profile and is threaded 1/2x28, capped with an A2 flash suppressor. This setup supports easy use of common rimfire-compatible muzzle devices.
Polymer upper and lower receivers with a molded receiver extension keep weight down and durability high for a rimfire trainer or recreational rifle. The ejection port is configured with a case deflector and omits a dust cover and forward assist.
Ergonomics are enhanced with a Magpul MOE Carbine 6-position adjustable stock and Magpul MOE pistol grip. The slim polymer M-LOK handguard features a full-length top Picatinny rail for mounting accessories, and this rifle arrives in an optic-only configuration with an M&P red/green dot installed on a riser.
The rifle feeds from a proprietary S&W 25-round polymer magazine with load-assist tabs, providing a 25+1 capacity. Finish throughout is matte black, and the rifle is made in the United States.
