The Springfield Armory Hellion is the semi-automatic civilian version of the HS Produkt VHS-2, manufactured in Croatia and imported by Springfield Armory. This compact bullpup brings a reversible ejection system, a two-position adjustable gas regulator, and ambidextrous controls together in a 5.56 NATO platform. It features a cold-hammer-forged CMV barrel with Melonite treatment, integrated flip-up sights, and a full-length Picatinny top rail.
Built around a short-stroke gas piston with a rotating bolt, the Hellion offers a 16-inch barrel in a package measuring approximately 28.25–29.75 inches overall and an unloaded weight around 8.0 lb. It accepts AR-15/STANAG magazines and uses an AR-type grip interface. This example is in excellent condition, with a bright, clean bore.

Designed as a modern bullpup, the Hellion places the action behind the trigger to maintain a 16-inch barrel while keeping overall length short for maneuverability. The polymer receiver and stock are finished in black, with a 5-position adjustable length of pull and a cheek riser to accommodate different shooters and setups.
The operating system is a short-stroke gas piston with a rotating bolt and a two-position gas regulator marked for Normal and Suppressed use. Ejection is reversible, allowing configuration for right- or left-side ejection. Controls are ambidextrous, including the safety and magazine release, and the forward-mounted charging handle is non-reciprocating and ambidextrous.
The 16-inch CMV steel barrel is cold-hammer-forged, Melonite/nitride treated, and cut with a 1:7 twist to stabilize a wide range of 5.56×45 projectiles. It is threaded 1/2x28 and fitted with a factory four-prong flash hider.
A full-length MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny top rail with numbered slots runs the length of the rifle and houses integrated, low-profile flip-up front and rear sights. The handguard adds M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock for accessory mounting. The rifle shows HS PRODUKT MADE IN CROATIA and Springfield Armory crossed-cannons markings, reflecting its manufacture and import path.
