Built on an investment-cast steel receiver with a blued finish, this 186-Series Mini-14 reflects Ruger’s proven construction approach from the early 1990s. The carbon steel barrel uses the classic slim pencil profile with a crowned muzzle, delivering the well-known handling characteristics of this era.
The rifle employs Ruger’s fixed-piston, short-stroke gas system with a rotating bolt for reliable cycling. The right-side charging handle and detachable box magazine configuration provide familiar Mini-14 ergonomics and straightforward operation.
Sighting equipment consists of a wing-protected front ramp/post and a protected aperture rear sight that is adjustable for windage and elevation. As a Standard (non-Ranch) model, it does not have integral scope bases and emphasizes a rugged iron-sight setup.
The straight-comb hardwood stock pairs with a ventilated polymer upper handguard for durability and heat management. Length of pull measures 12.5 inches, and the rifle is configured in non-GB form with a plain crowned muzzle and no flash suppressor or bayonet lug.
