The VP40 is a full-size member of HK's VP series, chambered in .40 S&W with a 4.09 inch barrel and a 13+1 capacity. This example retains a matte black slide and polymer frame, with front and rear cocking serrations for confident manipulation. Fixed sights include a dovetailed green-dot front and a square-notch rear for a crisp, simple sight picture.
Controls are fully ambidextrous where it counts: bilateral slide-stop levers and HK's paddle-style magazine release. This is the standard paddle configuration (not the VP40-B). A trigger safety with a safety shoe in the trigger face and a loaded chamber indicator are built in for practical handling.
The polymer frame uses interchangeable backstrap and side panels with aggressive molded texture, allowing the grip to be tuned to the shooter. An integral Picatinny-style accessory rail on the dust cover supports compatible lights or other accessories as needed.
Proofed and imported correctly, this pistol carries German DE proof marks on the barrel and slide, with an HKI – Columbus, GA import mark on the dust cover. The slide, barrel, and frame all show matching serial numbers, underscoring production consistency.
